Description: 

Darkstar is an innovative interactive installation that showcases the seamless integration of mechanical design, control systems, electronics, programming, and machine learning. At its core, Darkstar is equipped with the capability to recognize and interpret hand gestures, along with the precise positioning of each gesture. This sophisticated system is adept at classifying the user's hand gestures, identifying the number of fingers displayed, and employing regression analysis to pinpoint the position of each finger accurately.

Once a gesture is identified, Darkstar translates this information into commands for a series of indicators. The true magic happens when these indicators align correctly; at this moment, a specific hand gesture can activate the iris mechanism. This activation triggers a mechanical push system designed to dispense items, making the interaction not just digital but physically rewarding.

This project stands at the intersection of various disciplines, including mechanical engineering, electronics, control theory, and computer science, highlighting the potential of interdisciplinary innovation. Darkstar is not just a demonstration of technical prowess but a step towards more intuitive and engaging human-machine interfaces.
